The Republic of Moldova could review the number of employees at its Embassy in Russia
The Republic of Moldova could review the number of employees within its Embassy in the Russian Federation, according to a draft decision developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, which is at the stage of public consultations until November 10. The spokesperson of the institution, Igor Zaharov, confirmed for Radio Moldova that the staff of the diplomatic mission is to be reduced to 13 units.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration specifically considers the need to adjust, to optimize, to strengthen the capacities of certain diplomatic institutions by reorganizing other functions, and this initiative is also determined by the current regional context and the impact of geopolitical changes taking place at the global level. These elements require certain adjustments to the personnel of the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad, and the MAEIE as the central institution has the responsibility to correctly assess the human resource requirements and to distribute efficiently, taking into account the workload, so that the duties of the service are fulfilled efficiently", said Igor Zaharov.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said that, according to the project, staff will be reduced in other foreign embassies of our country.
We remind you that, on August 14, 45 Russian diplomats left our country after the authorities of the Republic of Moldova decided to reduce the number of diplomatic staff of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau, from 70 to 25.
