North Korea has launched several cruise missiles
North Korea launched several cruise missiles into waters off its west coast on Tuesday, the South Korean military reported, the latest launch in a series of tests carried out by Pyongyang this year, reports Agerpres.ro.
South Korea detected several (unidentified) cruise missiles fired into North Korea's West Sea (also called the Yellow Sea) around 7:00 a.m. local time. (22:00 p.m. GMT Monday), according to a statement from the Interarme General Staff.
US and South Korean intelligence agencies are "currently conducting a detailed analysis," according to the same source. Unlike ballistic missile tests, cruise missile tests are not prohibited under UN sanctions against Pyongyang.
North Korea has also launched cruise missiles into the Yellow Sea, claiming they are a new generation of projectiles. It also conducted another test, according to South Korean military authorities.
