Photography exhibition commemorates 33 years of Nistru War

A photography exhibition, dedicated to the Day of Memory and Gratitude, commemorating 33 years since the outbreak of the Nistru War, is being held in front of the Government building, as well as at the Presidential headquarters and the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.

According to the Government, the three institutions have come together in a unified effort to raise public awareness, especially among younger generations, about the heroism of the veterans and the tragic moments our country endured.

The exhibition showcases photographs by the late photojournalist Nicolae Pojoga, capturing unique moments from the events 33 years ago, and depicting the heroes who fought for the integrity, independence, and sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova. Additional photographs, also part of the same exhibition, are displayed on the fences surrounding the Presidential Palace and the Parliament.

The exhibition will be open until March 10.

On March 2, 33 years will have passed since the Nistru War, which resulted in hundreds of casualties and the de facto loss of Chișinău's control over the Transnistrian region.

Across the country, various commemorative activities are taking place, including flower layings at memorials, memory marches, solemn rallies, and religious ceremonies.
