The People's Advocate says citizens' purchasing power has declined because of low wages and pensions. Labour Minister's statement
Due to inflation, the economic and energy crisis, the purchasing power of citizens has decreased and salaries and pensions are low, People's Advocate Ceslav Panico told Radio Moldova. According to the ombudsman, the government should do more to support pensioners, people with disabilities, single-parent families and those with several children. At the same time, Labour and Social Protection Minister Alexei Buzu said that the executive is trying to identify measures to increase salaries in the public sector. The official also pointed out that at the beginning of this year, the deficit of money for pensions was about 6 billion lei.
